What The Stars Say....

Not really a huge believer in astrology but just out of curiosity I thought I'd look up some Libra-Taurus compatability readings last night.

I know horoscopes aren't true. But they do give you a starting point. You read what your personality traits(or someone else's) are supposed to be & then you agree with some & the parts you don't agree with you think no that doesn't work like that, it works like this. It's just a good tool for analyzing people.

"Pragmatic Taurus can help perfection-seeking Libra to be more accepting of life's flaws, and sociable Libra can help habit-driven Taurus to move out into the world and make interesting new contacts.
"
"Libra is the great perfectionist of the zodiac. You use the words "fair" and "equal" a lot. You believe passionately in fairness, which can cause you unhappiness, because life and people aren't always fair."

Ok this part is true. Am more of an idealist/perfectionist. He's much more matter-of-fact about things. And am definitely the social butterfly in this relationship. He's more of a workaholic, into his work & his research.

"You have a positive hatred of emotional storms, so you probably have trouble expressing your own emotions honestly. Anger, hatred, jealousy, neediness, intense desire - frightening stuff, all of it, and expressing it can get you into trouble (meaning that other people might get hurt or angry with you).
"

It's true that I don't like showing them. But it's not like I can help it.

"The bull is an extremely masculine animal, and the Taurus man can incline to the macho end of the masculine spectrum - partly because the sign is so physical, and partly because Taureans are so sensitive to the collective roles which society expects of them."

Oh NO!A male chauvinist!

"Taurus men can be infuriatingly simple and wilfully, deliberately obtuse when they get that unpleasant feeling that you're trying to change them. When they don't wish to understand something, they just block it out. They tell you you're being unreasonable, irrational or silly, or they smile sweetly and walk away, impervious to storms of tears and verbal abuse.
"

Yeah that sounds familiar.

Have to get some work done now!

well, astro site is pretty good actually. Put their advice in good use.

Taurus are good but they are earthsigns. they need stability, fixation and a consistent way of doing things. volatile, changing attitude and reactions dont suit them that well. they would want to control and feel secure through containing and holding you beside them. so, you might want to relax a bit and enjoy the cuddling.

Doshar,

He specializes in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. That's what it say on his office door. Am sure you'll know better than me what that means exactly.

Am not sure exactly what he is researching for now. He's preparing for yet another exam that he will have to take in Sweden in October.

What about you?

I know he's a workaholic because most of what he reads is work-related & he reads a lot. His car is full of books, magazines, brochures. When I went through them they were all professional except for one Qura'an & one copy of "One Hundred Years of Solitude" By Gabriel Garcia Marquez & Season of Migration To The North By Tayeb Saleh.Except for these last 3 he would have 'nizil min 3aini':)

He reads EVERYWHERE.If we're meeting someplace & I come late I find him reading, even on the beach.

I mean I read professional stuff too from time to time. But not on the beach. That would be too much.

What about you?

haal,

Read the Scorpio-Leo reading. If it's true then it's interesting. I like this bit:

"Scorpio is water and Leo is fire, and together the two of you can produce a great deal of steam.
"

Definitely not boring.

Interesting also that you're a Scorpio. Reminds me of one of your posts. About confusing people. That's supposed to be a Scorpio thing.

"This is the most perplexing and least understood of all the zodiac signs. You don't help this problem, since you are indeed prone to playing the enigmatic, mysterious type when you're unsure of a situation and are checking out the undercurrents. Yet "

Stop confusing us with smoke-screens:)

Hehehehe... Well, it is true what is there in the leo-scorpio. Leos are the things I am not; expressing things in the way I don't;... but i assure you we look at things differently. i am more into taking things a little deeper and i dont care about outside image but leo is so much into that. Plus, what is getting me is that Leo is SELF CENTERED. really. the whole world revolves around them. Well, ok. for a while i can take that but sure not when i am in a bad mood.

Yeah, i am a typical scorpio. not really into confusing people, but just probing to understand what people really think deep down apart from the outside shit or sweet talks they say.

I think this was obvious from your desert story, and your "wanting to pay" story.

Mohamed,

I should warn you that this has turned into a female male-bashing session. Haal complains about her fiance, I complain about K. & Doshar complains about men in general.I think this leaves you with 2 choices:

1)Defend the male viewpoint.
2)Find yourself a woman to complain about!

surgery huh? figures from his attitude. straight to the point.

i am specialized in restorative dentistry (fillings and root canal mostly) which is the opposite of surgery!

surgeons are radical and practical and swift. if there is a problem, remove the tooth/cause whatever. cut, dice and slice attitude.

on the other hand, restorative dentists would probably feel someone died when they decide to pull a tooth. they take their time and are not haste in decisions.

the reading and books?

well, we do all have alot to read all over the place. if you see my library and room you would think i never take my nose out of the book. and i have tons of papers to read for my phd, and i am late as hell ,but i just can't get my self to do it.
although i do read quite alot, just non professonal things.
i would n't read professional stuff on the beach though. (but maybe i do pack a few articles in my bag just in case i am in the mood).

it is not nerdiness, it is just that if you do research, there is literally tons and tons to read. and after a while you become a brochure/article junkie. we jusst collect them, they might come in handy. papers are sometimes difficult to come by and are considered valuable to have.

it shows that he has ambitions and discipline. and if i were him, i would be delighted if you show interest in what he is doing and being supportive. it is a big part of his life.

so far, i like what you say about him. good luck

About K. being macho I think there is also a cultural element.Egyptians are a bit more conservative than North Africans or Lebanese no?From what I see mixing with people here in UAE, Khaleeji men are extremely conservative, North African & Lebanese men are extremely free & Egyptians tend to be somewhere in the middle.
