So, why did you list all these verses?! To me they are nothing but an affirmation that there is no absolute right deed, wrong deed.... maybe I am wrong... but not absolutely, and maybe I am right, but still not absolutely!!!!
"So, why did you list all these verses?!"
Mish 3arfa. Because they make me feel better?
I just post whatever happens to be on my mind. They're on my mind now.
They make me feel better too. Except that last hadith!
"Except that last hadith!"
Why?I think it's wonderful. Our ability to do good is limited because we're only human. We're weak. We can't be perfect. (Of course I hate not being perfect but if the Prophet was unsure of himself then who am I to complain?)
The Mercy & Grace of God on the other hand are unlimited.Think of it as being given a huge headstart in a difficult race you have no chance whatsoever of winning.
If not by our deeds, then by what?
Our ability to do good is limited, ok, but we don't have to be prefect to go to heaven.
"If not by our deeds, then by what?"
By the Grace & Mercy of God - just like it says in the hadith.
"Our ability to do good is limited, ok, but we don't have to be prefect to go to heaven.
"
Again God's mercy will make us perfect. He will forgive all our 'imperfections' so that when if/when we do go to Heaven we are perfect. Without God's forgiveness we'd never make it.
la'a sorry, He won't forgive us 3ashan sawad 3oyonna!
"la'a sorry, He won't forgive us 3ashan sawad 3oyonna!
"
Didn't say the forgiveness was a carte blanche. I just meant that you can't just rely on your good deeds. You must also repent & pray for forgiveness for your not so good ones. You need good deeds AND God's Grace.
That, I agree with.
